This policy covers betterbotllc.com, Family History Film (familyhistoryfilm.com), and the conversations Better Bot LLC ("we") has with people through our Facebook Pages and Messenger. Feel Better Bot has its own policy at feelbetterbot.com/privacy, which governs that product.
This website
betterbotllc.com has no analytics, no advertising trackers and no cookies. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes ordinary request data, such as your IP address, to serve and protect the site.
Messages you send us on Facebook Messenger
When you message one of our Facebook Pages, an AI assistant answers on our behalf, and it tells you it's an AI at the start of the conversation. To do that, we receive from Meta your message, the Page-scoped ID Meta assigns you, and, if you share it, your name. We keep the conversation so the assistant can remember it and so a person can follow up on anything that needs one, such as an order or a refund.
Your messages are sent to the AI model provider we use (Anthropic) to write replies. We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone else except as needed to provide the service you asked for (for example, a payment processed by Stripe) or as required by law.
We only reply within Meta's 24-hour messaging window, and we do not send unsolicited follow-up messages. Reply STOP at any time and the assistant will stop responding.
Family History Film
When you start a research plan or order on familyhistoryfilm.com, we collect what you give us: your name and email (and your phone number if you text us), and what you tell us about your relative (names, dates, places, family memories, and any photos you upload). We use it to research public historical records (such as census, draft, immigration and death records), to send you your plan and results by email, and to make the film you order. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your full card number.
The site uses Google Analytics and the Meta pixel to understand which pages and ads work. These set cookies and share browsing events with Google and Meta. Emails are sent through our email provider (Resend). Research may use your relative's details to search records sites. We don't sell your information.
If you write to us, we use your address and message only to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.
How long we keep it
We keep conversations for as long as they're useful for helping you, and delete them on request.
Deleting your data
See data deletion. Email hello@betterbotllc.com and we will delete your conversations and any records we hold about you within 30 days, and confirm when it's done.
Children
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
